Twombly and Poussin: Arcadian Painters

When I announced to my friends [1972] I had decided to write my dissertation on the subject “Nicolas Poussin: His Vision of Landscape Transformed into Landscape Painting” theie reaction was one of shock and disbelief.

Nick was born in Birmingham, England in 1953 and completed his Bachelor of Fine Art at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1977 followed by a Fellowship in Painting at Sunderland Polytechnic in 1978.
